We launched Stowhill Estates Berkshire in 2023 with a clear mission: to better serve the prime property market in Berkshire and to improve the perception of estate agency. Learn more about our approach. We work across Ascot, Twyford, Wokingham and all the surrounding villages such as Warfield and Bray, helping owners achieve the best possible result with a service that feels calm, personal and properly looked after.
Before setting up Stowhill Estates Berkshire, neither of us had an estate agency background. Julia built a successful career in marketing in the wine industry, and Tim worked with technology companies around the world in sales and relationship management. The skills and experience we have built over the last 20 years provided the foundation for launching the business, and for doing things differently.
For us, this is about more than selling prime property – it’s about people. It’s about building relationships, taking away stress, and turning a daunting process into an enjoyable one. We care about doing the right thing, we care about our clients, and we are proud that the people we work with feel looked after and supported from start to finish.
We live in Warfield with our Labrador Amber, who came to us through volunteering with Guide Dogs for the Blind. We love being part of the local community, whether that’s at local music events, village shows or just chatting to people in the pub.

Tim Haycocks
What makes Tim tick?
I have always been fascinated by the property market, especially as a lifelong Berkshire resident. It’s fair to say I have seen a lot change in the local area over that time having lived in Wokingham, Caversham and Warfield.
I’m people-person and arguably a bit of a talker (Jules often has to tell me to stop!). The nice thing about this job, is that it gives me the opportunity to work with some fascinating people and amazing clients which is hugely enjoyable. Knowing that I am a small part of shaping the story of someone’s life is incredibly rewarding and a real privilege. Ultimately though, it’s fun and that’s something core to what we do and why we do it.
Speaking of which, I’m probably guilty of having too many hobbies. I love football, golf – pretty much any sport to be honest. Snowboarding is a shared passion of both of us – there’s really nothing like crisp mountain air, fresh snow, stunning views and cold beer on a bluebird day in Les Gets. I really enjoy carpentry and woodwork, something I’m confident is a genetic thing as my Grandad was the same (although infinitely better at it!). I’m what I jokingly call “an ex-musician” having once called that a career. Nowadays it’s a hobby rather than a profession but it’s still a huge part of my life.
Something I always knew but now appreciate more acutely is that buying and selling a home is intensely personal. Every single person and journey is different. Everyone has their own unique circumstances and needs to be met. And that’s why I love what we do – it’s never boring!

Julia Haycocks
Who is Julia?
Having spent a decade in the wine industry, people thought I was mad for giving up the ‘dream job’. However, finding people their perfect home excites me even more than finding them a delicious glass of wine!
I’ve been working in marketing for over 20 years and have been fortunate enough to be involved in many aspects of several industries. From customer marketing, to innovation, from Head of Marketing for a beer club, to brand manager for an Australian wine brand (appropriately named RedHeads!). It’s fair to say, if you need wine advice, I’m always happy to help!
Having the chance to be part of people’s lives in a more personal way is something I find incredibly rewarding. I love nothing more than spending time with people and building meaningful relationships. The importance of the ‘people’ aspect of property transactions cannot be overstated.
Away from work, I’m a volunteer for various projects, charities and organisations. Litter picking in our local area, volunteering for Guide Dogs for the Blind or supporting local animal charities to name a few. I also love being creative; photography, painting, sculpting, glass-blowing … you name it, I’ve tried it! I’m very much a fair-weather golfer and when the conditions take a turn for the worse, you’ll find me daydreaming of my next snowboarding holiday.
